THE Process

Renovating your theater to become an IRIS Optimized theater is a simple 3 step process - survey, analysis and installation.

Our technical experts will visit your site to take measurements of your theater geometry and just as importantly create an accurate snapshot of your current on-screen performance including brightness, color and contrast across the entire screen.

Having carried out our on-site survey, our technical experts will use the analysis to identify the optimum screen type, shape, size, and positioning, including enhanced 2D, 3D, or 2D/3D hybrid coatings and perforation pattern to deliver superior audio. We’ll use our unique software to show you the exact visual improvements possible from every seat.

You’ll then be able to choose a Harkness’ Integrator that’s been fully trained and certified in the Iris Program to help you modify your theater to create an optimized experience for your movie-goers.

Finally, once the optimization is complete, we’ll provide you with a range of marketing materials to help you promote your IRIS Optimized Theater to your movie-goers.

The IRIS Program utilizes proprietary, State-of-the-Art auditorium analysis, monitoring, and modelling technologies to understand exactly what each auditorium’s unique geometric shape and equipment setup is capable of achieving and delivering in terms of presentation to every seat in the theater.

Harkness’ Qalif Ultimate technology allows for measurement of contrast, color (down to 1nm) and color convergence, ideal for ensuring performance quality in single, dual or multiple projection setups such as premium large format theatres.
