Translite™

Our popular Translite™ brand is a leader in rear projection, and is available in a number of styles to meet the unique needs of special events, attractions, and Pro AV applications.

Harkness Translite™ comprises an economic range of flexible rear projection surfaces, including combined front and rear projection. They are manufactured to a unique formulation based on an unsupported PVC base with built-in diffusion to overcome hot-spotting.  Translite™ can meet unique needs for:

  • A variety of ambient lighting conditions
  • A range of contrast and transmission requirements
  • Edge-blending projection

Our proprietary and unique seam welding process ensures our screens have no visible seams under projection conditions. Translite screens can be folded for transportation.

Despatch/Storage

Screens should normally be transported and stored at temperatures between 5C and 30C (40F and 85F), with relative humidity less than 80%. If screens are very cold (e.g. following air transport) then they must be allowed to warm up before unpacking, otherwise cold cracking may occur. Screens can be stored folded for up to one month; longer than this is not recommended. Screens can be stored for longer periods if tube packed (unfolded).

Care and Maintenance

Translite White, Blue, Stereo, Grey 230
The general environment where the screen is installed should be kept reasonably clean to avoid dirt and dust build-up. Screens can be periodically cleaned using a soft brush or cloth, doing this vertically with limited pressure. Screens can be cleaned using a damp cloth wetted with water and a mild detergent. Under no circumstances should screens be cleaned with abrasive materials or harsh chemicals such as acids, bleaches or solvents. Harkness Screens is not liable for damage caused to screens through the use of inappropriate cleaning methods or chemicals.
